i guess i am to do it 1 or 2 x week but am unsure of when is best: 1 or2 hrs. after eating, fasting, etc.?
i'm sure each person learns his/her own patterns and what works best for them but, how to start?....any suggetions?
thanks, kiley
Kiley,
Hi, I am relatively new to the Addisons/diabetes scene. Do you have Addisons as well as diabetes?
I have just had an A1C of 5.7, which is just into the 'high' range.
I have addisons and hypothyroidism.
I assume with prediabetes, testing fasting blood sugars before steroids in the morning could be misleading, since I don't have morning cortisol in my system yet.
and so, I am thinking of taking the steroids first, then waiting an hour or two, and getting labs then. Maybe I'll test at home first, to see where the 'peak' seems to be, then try that timing for my labs.
Trying not to be upset, I've taken steroids for Addisons for 19 years and have done well, careful dosing, etc. Just don't need more, that's how I feel right now.
thanks for your thoughts,
