thyroid treatment

Overactive thyroid treatment without pills? My doc has diagnosed myself with having an overactive thyroid however the tablets prescribed (thyroxine) made my heart beat irraticly and made me panic. So I have decided to abandon taking the pills, how else can I control this problem? Any natural remedies? I feel great the day I exercise, it really sorts out my energy levels but then im so low for 2 or 3 days after. Also my dad has this too and takes the same tablets, im 28 so can I ignore it for a while or is it best not to?

The thyroxine is used to treat hypothyroid not overactive or hyper. If it is overactive it would make it even worse...but if low functioning you may need it at some point but it sounds like you were getting too much thyroid hormone.
