Endo's are scratching their heads.

My 10 year old daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in June of 2011 and I was diagnosed in October of the same year. Since June we have been able to regulate her blood sugars with insulin (Hugalog & Lantus). As of Jan. 30th her blood sugars became erratic. They would go as high as the 400's and drop down into the 30-50's at least twice a day. Many times they would drop from 250 to 35/40 in a matter of 40 minutes. Over the next two weeks the Endo's decreased her insulin until she wasn't taking any. Now off all insulin, she continued to have two extreme lows a day. Last Friday we took her to see her Endo and he admitted her to the hospital for "observation" and to do some blood work when her blood sugar hit the 50's. They want her blood sugar to be below 55 to take a glucose, cortisol, and c-pep tide test. While in the hospital her blood sugars did the opposite and actually rose into the 400's. Now back at home and back on insulin we are seeing her blood sugars start to go low and high again. (To rule out any foul play we keep her insulin and administer it.) The Endo's can't explain why this has happened and have said that they have never seen something like this occur. We are afraid it could be starting again. Has anyone else had this experience?

*She eats 45 carbs for breakfast and Lunch, a 15 carb snack at 10am and 3pm, and 60 carbs for dinner. She gets 1 unit of Humalog for every 15 carbs at her meals. 14 units Lantus before bed.
